The goal of the Western Exit Guide is to provide the best information
for every exit in each state that is covered by the guide.
What does this mean exactly?
It means that a sign along the freeway will have precise information on it, and the guide looks to "enhance"
it to some degree in certain circumstances (this occurs about .01% of the time).
Example #1 - I-10 Eastbound in California lists Indio on guide signs leading away from San Bernardino. The Western
Exit Guide added Phoenix as an additional city on the sign. It might not be what is "exactly" on the sign, but it could
not be considered incorrect.
Example #2 - California 91 Westbound lists "Beach Cities" as the destination for Westbound traffic. This site
changed it to Anaheim and Long Beach. Both are correct in their own right.
Bottom Line - The information is only enhanced if it appears to be needed. If there is an exit for Main Street and
all ramps lead to Main Street, there is no need to amend the information. This topic is covered to prevent e-mails
that say, "well the sign actually says this, not what you added." If a true error has been made (meaning that none
of the information provided here is on the sign at all) then the guide will be corrected.
Information that will be added over time:
- Rest Areas
- County Boundaries
- City Boundaries (for cities above a certain amount of population: probably 100,000)
States that are likely to be added in the future:
Alaska
Hawaii
Alberta
Montana
North Dakota
South Dakota
Nebraska
Kansas
Oklahoma
Texas................(which will take a lot of work to add!)
-Note: Exit lists will be added once an entire state is finished!
